Abstract
Jan Czynski, who settled in France after the failure of the 1831 Polish insurrection, waged a lifelong struggle for the liberation of his country, fot the emancipation of Jews and women, and for a peaceful transformation of society. Converted to Fourierism as early as 1834, editor of the newspaper Le Nouveau Monde, he was one of the main dissenters opposing Considerant’s leadership.
