Abstract

1898-1900. The paper deals with Charles Péguy’s phalansterian thinking when confronting parliamentarian socialism about to achieve its unification, against a background marked by the Dreyfus Affair and political agitation. From one discontinuity to another, Péguy, former normalien turned editor and book dealer until he founded the Cahiers de la Quinzaine, from mystical utopianism to Christian faith, from a "paper phalanstery" to the cathedral of Chartres ; along the way Lucien Herr, Charles Andler, Jean Jaurès, Léon Blum, Georges Sorel, Bernard Lazare, Daniel Halévy, Romain Rolland, Jacques Maritain...
